Refund policy

The customer (“Customer”) shall ensure that they do not accept the delivery of any product (“Product(s)”) whose original packaging is damaged or tampered with in any manner.

Products may be returned/ replaced under the following conditions:

  • Wrong Product delivered
  • Expired Product delivered
  • Damaged Product delivered – Physical damage/ tampered Product or packaging
  • Incomplete order – missing Products


Return/ replacement requests will not be accepted under the following conditions:

  • Opened/ used/ altered Products.
  • Original packaging (mono cartons, labels, etc.) missing.
  • The return/ replacement request is generated after ten (10) days from the date of purchase.
  • The damaged/ missing Product is reported after ten (10) days from the date of purchase.

Returns

We would like you to be completely satisfied with your purchases. Your satisfaction is our highest priority.

Our refund policy has a term of 10 (ten) days. If 10 (ten) days have gone by since the date of your delivery, unfortunately we will be unable to offer you a refund or exchange.

If you claim a leakage in the Product or if it was damaged during the delivery process, please send us an email with the following details, within ten (10) days of the date of delivery. We will issue a Product exchange for any Product that is returned in a saleable and undamaged condition, in its original packaging and can be verified to be damaged/faulty. Please allow one (1) to three (3) weeks from the day we receive your package, for your exchange request to be fully processed and closed.

Please write to us within seven (7) days of placing the order for the Product that you would like to exchange or refund at hello@theoilchemist.in with the following details:           

  • Order Number
  • Invoice number
  • Details of your request or complaint

Images or videos to support the complaint, without which we cannot process the request

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

The Customer will assist to return the Product in the same condition as it was received along with all accessories/booklets/freebies/promotional Products etc. There should be no signs of external damage on the packaging, including the original carton.

Returns/replacements are accepted for unused Products only.

Once all the details are received, it would take our team seven (7) working days to revert on the complaint/ query/ issue. In case an exchange is approved for your complaint, you will be informed of the same with an authorization number, and a reverse pick-up of the Product will have to be arranged by the Customer. In the case of a Product refund, once your request is approved the refund will reflect in your account within ten (10) - fifteen (15) days and you will be sent an email confirming the same.

All Products to be exchanged must be sent back to us packed in the same packaging as it was received in and physically accompanied in the reverse pick-up by the original receipt and a document that states the following:

  • Address of dispatch
  • Name & Address of the customer
  • Order number
  • Contents of the package

Please also email this document and share an image of the reverse pick-up consignment (inside and outside packaging) with our Customer Care (details provided hereinafter) representative who you have been in touch with on email.

Once the package is received by our warehouse team the exchange order will be processed within 2 business days. You will then be informed of the new consignment tracking details.

We are not responsible for any damage caused to the Product(s) after delivery.


Additional non-returnable Products:


  • Gift cards
  • Some health and personal care Products


To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.


Please do not send your purchase back to us, unless the return / refund of your purchased item(s) has been expressly approved by us.


There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted, if applicable:


  • Any Product not in its original condition, are damaged or missing parts for reasons not pertaining to any error on our part.


  • Any Product that is returned after expiration of 10 (ten) days following delivery of the said Product.


Refunds (if applicable)


Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned Product. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.


If your return is approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of seven (7) business days.

For the Products that are returned, the refund is issued to the original payment method (in case of pre-paid transactions) or to the bank account in case of Cash On Delivery (“CoD”) orders. You must provide your bank account details whilst cancelling COD orders.



Late or missing refunds (if applicable)


If you have not received a refund yet, firstly check your bank account again.


Then, contact your credit/ debit card company, as it may take some time before your refund is officially reflected in your account.


Next contact your bank. There is often a certain amount of processing time taken by a bank before a refund is reflected in your account.

Sale Products (if applicable)


Only regular priced Products may be refunded, unfortunately, sale Products cannot be refunded.


Exchanges (if applicable)


We only replace Products if they are defective or damaged.  If you need to exchange it for the same Poduct, send us an email at hello@theoilchemist.in and send your Product to: Shyam Tower, 03-319, Block DH-6/11, STREET NO. 319, Action Area 1D, Newtown, Kolkata, West Bengal 700156.


Gifts


If the Product was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned Product is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.


If the Product was not marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver, and he/ she will be intimated about your return.


Shipping

Minimum & Maximum Delivery Time – 3 (three) to 7 (seven) days once shipped.


You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your Product. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.


Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged Product to reach you, may vary.


If you are shipping an Product over 2000 INR, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We do not guarantee that we will receive your returned item in good condition, if at all.


Cancellation

Refund and exchange are possible on cancellation before dispatch of the Product.

Cancellations made within 1 (one) day of placing the order of the Product, will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made within forty-eight (48) hours from the date of placing the order of the Product, will receive a 70% refund. Cancellations made within 3 – 4 from the date of placing the order of the Product, will receive a 50% refund. Cancellation of orders shall not be entertained after 4 days from the date of placing the order.

Damages due to neglect, improper usage or wrong application will not be covered under our Exchange/Returns Policy. Exchange of Product due to allergic/skin reactions is not applicable. Exchange of Product due to reasons including personal dislike of the Product; dislike of the fragrance; dislike of color that cannot be backed by proof of quality issues with the Product itself is not applicable.
